Malaysian Nasi Goreng Recipe


  • 300g chicken breast
  • 5 sprigs spring onion
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 head broccoli
  • 1 diced red onion
  • 1 egg
  • 25ml soy sauce
  • 1 tablesppon brown sugar
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 300g rice
  • sesame oil
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 2 teaspoons diced ginger
  • 1 tablespoon soy saucev
  • 2 red chillis
  • 4 limes



1. Chop the spring onion, peel and dice the carrot, garlic, ginger, chop the broccoli, 2 chopped red chillis into small chunks and add the diced red onion.

2. Chop the chicken into small chunks and fry in sesame oil with the soy sauce.

3. Put a large pan of 600ml of water to boil and cook the rice. Leave to the side to dry and cool.

4. Take the chicken out and place it aside in a bowl.

5. Add the vegetables to a wok with the vegetable oil and fry.

6. Add the rice to the wok and continue to fry.

.7. Place the ingredients in one half of the wok and crack an egg in the other, part cook then scramble together.
